When I was little my Mum taught me how to sew on a vintage handcrank machine, and together we would create a menagery of soft toys. Nearly 25 years later I still use a vintage machine to create my teddy bears and their animal friends.

Each one of my bears is made using traditional techniques, using a mixture of hand and machine sewing. Cotter pin joints mean that my bears have movable arms and legs. All of their faces are hand finished; featuring glass eyes, needle-felted noses and embroidered smiles. My larger bears often have voices or even songs of their own.

Every one of my bears is most importantly made with love and care. I hope they bring you as much joy as they did me.

Personalised and Memory Bears

Commissions for bespoke teddies are welcome here at Julie's Bear Studio, be it a bear, bunny, puppy or elephant. We are currently taking orders for both standard bears and memory bears.

Personalised Bears
If there isn't a pre-made bear that takes your fancy then ordering a personalised bespoke bear is the answer. With a wide choice of fur fabric and patterns we will be able to find the perfect bear. Additional features such as coloured eyes, embroidery and clothing can also be incorporated to makeyour dream bear.

Memory Bears
A memory or keepsake bear is a beautiful way to capture precious moments, whether these are a little one growing up, a special event, or a loved one who has passed away. Memory bears are made from items of your clothing and can have personal touches such as coloured eyes or embroidery added to make them extra special.
